Due to its high saturation, high contrast, high brightness, strong consistency, and high plate durability, gravure printing has a relatively high share in cigarette pack printing. The printing process for gravure cigarette packs is relatively mature. The reason why it is called "relatively mature" is because there are the following problems in actual production:

① There are many types of gravure ink and paper, and plate manufacturers do not have or cannot develop a complete set of gray balance parameters and printing characteristic curves for each printing manufacturer;

② Plate making factories often evaluate the quality of plate making based on sample sheets, but the actual printing conditions differ greatly from the process conditions of sample making.
