Conductivity is the reciprocal of resistance, and its level can indirectly indicate the concentration of ions in the plating solution. Due to the fact that in the process of preparing and diluting the dampening solution, tap water is usually added to the original solution of the dampening solution for dilution, and tap water contains a certain amount of calcium and magnesium ions, which means that tap water has a certain degree of hardness. Therefore, the dampening solution also exhibits a certain degree of hardness. When the hardness is too high, it will seriously affect the printing operation, such as the accumulation of sediment in the wetting system, which seriously affects the normal transmission of the dampening solution; If sediment accumulates in the ink supply system, it will seriously hinder the transfer of ink, causing the graphic and text parts of the printing plate to become blurred and the blank parts to become dirty. To ensure that the hardness value of the dampening solution is not too high, softened water can be used instead of tap water when preparing the dampening solution. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly check the conductivity of the dampening solution, that is, to detect its ion content, in order to monitor the changes in the hardness value of the dampening solution.
