油墨是噴墨印刷的關鍵耗材之一，噴墨油墨的發展從一定程度上也說明瞭噴墨印刷技術的發展，因為油墨不僅僅決定了噴墨圖像的質量。

如果使用的復印成平紙，及其料起被承物，這種印刷品的色密度和清晰度熱固型油墨是指這種油墨在常溫下是固體，從噴嘴噴出時是熱熔液體，在到達承印物錶面時迅速凝固。

這種快速凝固的特點可以防止油墨擴散或滲透到承印物內部，保證了印刷的質量。
