1. Bookblock making:

The first part of the book block production is the same as the flat binding process, including cutting, folding, page matching, sewing, and book cutting. After completing the above tasks, it is necessary to carry out the unique processing process of hardcover book cores. If the book core is in the form of a round back with ridges, it needs to be flattened, coated with glue, dried and cut, rounded, ridged, coated with glue, glued with gauze, re coated with glue, glued with a cover cloth, glued with spine paper, dried, etc. on the basis of a flat book core to complete the processing of a hardcover book core. If the book core is in the form of a square back without ridges, there is no need for the aforementioned rounding. If the book core is in the form of a round back without ridges, there is no need to have ridges. The processing of book spine includes: brushing glue, sticking bookmark tape, pasting gauze, pasting plug cloth, and pasting spine paper.

2. Bookcase making:

The material has a certain strength and wear resistance, and has a decorative effect. A book case made by connecting the cover, back cover, and spine of a single piece of material is called a solid book case. A book case made of the same material for the cover and back cover, but another material for the spine, is called an ingredient book case. When making a book case, first cut the cover material according to the specified size and apply glue, then compact and position the cardboard for the front and back seals, wrap the edges and corners, and flatten them to complete the production of the book case. In order to adjust the arc shape of the book back, after the book cover is decorated, it needs to be rounded off

3. Cover the book:

It is the process of connecting the book case and book core together, also known as the casing. The production method is to first apply glue to one side of the book core lining, place it in a certain position on the book shell, so that one side of the book core and the book shell are firmly adhered, and then use this method to evenly adhere the other side lining of the book core to the book shell, so that the entire book core and the book shell are firmly connected together. Finally, use a crimping machine to create grooves on the front and back edges of the book, apply pressure and dry them to make the book smoother and more organized. If there is a protective cover, it can be wrapped and shipped from the factory.

The binding work of books and periodicals is very complicated. Generally, paperback books require more than 10 processes, hardcover books require more than 20 processes, and special edition books require up to 50 binding processes.
