One of the printing processes: original manuscript
The original manuscript is the article to be printed, not just beautiful pictures.
We can categorize original manuscripts into text manuscripts, painting manuscripts, photography manuscripts, packaging design manuscripts, advertising design manuscripts, binding design manuscripts, physical manuscripts, color manuscripts, black manuscripts, and other categories.
The original text can be divided into handwritten, printed, copied, etc. The font on the original should be correct, the handwriting should be clear, prominent, dark, and the edges should be distinct.
There are also types of original painting drafts, including line drafts and continuous tone drafts.
Line manuscripts are usually vector graphics such as handwritten text, art charts, pen and ink drawings, woodcuts, prints, maps, etc. They are composed of black and white or colored lines and blocks of color, and generally do not vary in tone depth. There is often a continuous gradient from highlights to dark levels on the original manuscript screen. This type of original manuscript includes watercolor painting, watercolor painting, oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, New Year's painting, sketch pencil drawing, etc., which have some properties of bitmap graphics.
Photography manuscripts can be divided into black and white drafts and color drafts. The original photography manuscript requires appropriate black and white contrast, high image clarity, rich layers, and accurate color tones. The image cannot be too small, and the magnification should be appropriate when copying. Zooming in too little can seriously damage the quality of the image.
The physical manuscript is used as the basis for plate making, and nowadays it is common to take photos of the physical manuscript before plate making.
