How to arrange titles in the typesetting of books, magazines, and printing
① The question sequence and the question text are usually arranged on the same line, with a blank word (or half a word) between them.
② Punctuation marks can be inserted in the middle of the text, preferably in pairs. At the end of the question, except for question marks and exclamation marks, there are generally no punctuation marks (footmarks can be added after inserting questions in mathematical, scientific, and chemical books).
③ The title of each line should not be too long, at most not exceeding 4/5 of the center of the page. If it cannot be arranged, it can be changed to another line, and the bottom line should be slightly shorter than the top. At the same time, attention should be paid to the tone and vocabulary structure, and intentional separation should not be avoided. When words and phrases cannot be separated, the downward direction may be longer than the upward direction. When a title with a question sequence is changed, the second line should be aligned with the preceding question text; For lines exceeding two, the end of each line should also be aligned (excluding the end of each line).
④ For subheadings below a section, the method of occupying a few lines in the center is generally not used. Instead, they are inserted and placed in bold font of the same number as the main text at the beginning of the first line of the paragraph, with one blank word after the title and two blank words before the title.
⑤ The title should not deviate from the main text. The prohibition of memorizing titles means that it is necessary to avoid the situation where the title is placed at the end of the page and separated from the main text on both sides. Various publications also have different requirements for memorizing questions. Some publishing units require no less than three lines of text under the second level title and no less than one line of text under the third level title. For publications without special requirements, there should be no less than one line of main text under the second and third level headings. The method to avoid memorizing questions is to shorten the main text of the previous page (or pages) by one line and move the main text of the next page up by one line; Alternatively, move the title to the top of the next page and extend a few lines from the main text of the previous page (or pages) to fill the blank space. If it cannot be filled, it is allowed to have a blank line at the end of the previous page.
