Reading Principles and Characteristics of Metal Barcodes【Buke Printing】
The reading principle of metal barcodes relies on electromagnetic eddy currents and is performed by specialized metal barcode readers. Compared to ordinary barcodes, metal barcodes have the following characteristics:
(1) Surface is resistant to stains. Ordinary barcodes are read based on light reflection; once the barcode surface is stained, it affects light reflection and thus the correct reading of the barcode. Metal barcodes, however, are read via electromagnetic eddy currents. As long as the distance between the reader and the barcode is within a certain range, the barcode can still be read correctly even if its surface is contaminated.
(2) Strong anti-aging capability and long lifespan. The surface of a metal barcode is coated with a polyester film, providing excellent protection. Its sturdiness and toughness are far superior to paper barcodes, with strong adaptability to outdoor environments, resistance to high and low temperatures, corrosion, sunlight, rain, immunity to magnetic interference, and resistance to dust pollution. Therefore, metal barcodes have a long service life and canbe used for extended periods in harsh environments.
(3) Can be made into invisible barcodes. Since metal barcodes are read based on the principle of electromagnetic eddy currents, various protective films can be applied. By covering the surface with an opaque protective film, they can be made into invisible barcodes to achieve anti-counterfeitingpurposes.
(4) High flexibility in production. The shape of metal barcodes can be customized into circles, ellipses, orsquares, etc., according to customer needs, and different information capacities can be set based on user requirements. Metal barcodes can store standardASCIIcode information and are a type of continuous barcode with multiple rows, variable length, large capacity, and strong error correction capability.
